Wolf Moon

I was in the Bosque del Apache in late January to witness the Super Blood Wolf Moon Eclipse. Not very long after taking this photo the moon disappeared behind a huge bank of clouds, sending me back to my Airbnb. It was all for the best, given I didn’t realize the eclipse wouldn’t take place for another two hours – a bit past the closing time for the park.

Perhaps it was simply my sense of anticipation about this “wolf moon,” but there was an eerie quiet that seemed to spread across the refuge as it rose in tandem with the sun’s setting. The light was simply remarkable!
