Great Blue Sentry
I’m convinced birds can read a photographer’s mind, waiting for the moment we turn our backs or pull our cameras away from our faces to finally do something. This guy, however, seemed happy as a clam to stand sentry, fixed to his post atop an old palm tree stump. Who knows how long he’d been there before we stopped to watch… and anyone’s guess how long he remained 15 minutes after I gave up and we drove on. Of course, he was doing something – resting and watching and waiting, most likely for me to leave him alone!
