Squash Blossoms

One of the most delightful appetizers you will find during the Santa Fe midsummer are fried squash blossoms. I found these at the farmers market a few weeks ago and although I didn’t buy them – the prep with the oil and the goat cheese filling is truly a mess in the kitchen – just seeing them made me so grateful for the many unique and delicious things about living in northern New Mexico.

Although I’m not one to overly filter my images, I played around with some subtle painterly effects with this one. Oh, the color! I could get lost in this one.
