Look for the Patterns

I love how this flock of sandhill cranes reminds me of notes in musical score, like a feathered arpeggio! Life is filled with repeating patterns, cadence, and rhythm…
“Rhythm. Life is full of it; words should have it, too. But you have to train your ear. Listen to the waves on a quiet night; you’ll pick up the cadence. Look at the patterns the wind makes in dry sand and you’ll see how syllables in a sentence should fall. ”
― Arthur Gordon, A Touch of Wonder
Patterns – they can be skillful or unskillful in our lives, and often it takes time and quite a bit of attention to be able to spot them. Space needs to be given to allow them to repeat, after all.
What patterns are you able to recognize that you wish to continue, or are ready to let go of?
